Coach 9: May 9, 2026 Update

Work on coach 9 continues to progress.

Prior to the Spring Work Weekend, the second Miller coupler was installed. More work needs to be done to get the couplers, as well as the platform system, to operate.
In addition, one of the lamps was installed. Prior to the installation holes had to be cut through the ceiling and roof to allow the lamps to vent when kerosene lighting is used. Here you can see the lamp at the far end and two sets of holes cut in the ceiling.

Here you can see how the lamps are attached to the ceiling, as well as the underside of the flues.
Here are some of the remaining flues yet to be inserted into the openings in the ceiling.
