Benefits of Membership

Members help the WW&F Railway Museum to preserve a piece of Maine’s unique narrow gauge railroading history, and educate regarding the importance railroads had on the development of rural Maine.  Membership dues provide an important part of our yearly operational budget, in addition to providing funds to continue the work of restoration and education.

With your membership, you receive a bimonthly Newsletter with news and photographs.  Members receive discounted tickets to all museum train rides and special events. Museum members also have access to members-only sections of our popular forum, where the latest museum happenings can be found and discussed, the ability to access all past issues of the museum’s Newsletter, voting rights, can volunteer as train crew members, and can even rent the railroad at a reduced rate. Most importantly, you will be part of nearly 1500 like-minded people who can rightfully call the WW&F “their railroad.”

If you want to take your Lifetime membership to the “next level” consider adding a Lifetime Pass. For only $175 you and your guest will enjoy unlimited free rides on virtually any WW&F train. When the WW&F is hosting a special event or excursion, Lifetime Passholders only pay for the “extra” fare, such as for a concert, admittance to SeaLyon Farm, or other similar circumstance. This pass can “pay for itself” after just five uses!

Best of all, each Lifetime Passholder receives a beautiful brass pass (pictured here) stamped with their Lifetime Membership Number. The fee collected for the pass is divided equally between our endowment and opportunities funds – ensuring that your support today will continue to further the long-term goals of the museum.

Note: Only those who have purchased a Lifetime Membership may acquire a Lifetime Pass.

Annual Membership Meeting

May 3, 2025

The bridge at Trout Brook was moved passed the historic Meeting House in Alna on Sept. 8, 2018 after being assembled in the parking lot at Sheepscot. then installed across the brook.

Museum Members are welcome to join us for our Annual Membership Meeting held each year on the first Saturday of May at 2pm. Unless unusual circumstances arise, the Annual Meeting takes place at the historic Alna Meetinghouse at 1789 Alna Rd. The agenda includes reports from the Museum’s President, Treasurer, and Railroad Superintendent. The election of directors for the organization takes place (with most members choosing to vote by proxy.) If necessary, any changes to the Museum’s By-Laws will be voted upon. After the meeting, a special “tour of the line” is offered at 4pm, which includes a light dinner underneath The Pavilion at Alna Center.

For those members who also want to put in a day of volunteering, the Springtime Tie and Dine is also offered on the same day as the Annual Meeting. The work train departs approximately at 8am from Sheepscot station and will return in time for lunch and the Annual Meeting. Those who would rather work than meet can choose to continue volunteering on the railway until everyone gathers for a “dinner train”, departing Sheepscot at approximately 4pm.

RSVP is NOT required for the Annual Membership Meeting, Tie and Dine, 4pm tour of the railroad, or dinner underneath The Pavilion at Alna Center. All museum members receive notification of the meeting (and ballots for voting by proxy) via mail approximately 30 days before the meeting date.
