Coach 9: May 28, 2025 Update

Recent work on Coach 9, being built by the volunteers at the WW&F Railway Museum in Alna, Maine.

Gold leaf lettering has been applied to the letter board. Drop shadow accent painting will be done soon.

The father-son team of Jerry and Carlos have been building new passenger car trucks for the coach. Here, Carlos drills a truck frame in the main shop.
Truck frames and parts for assembly.
Jerry and Carlos making new spring hangers. The hanger loop is heated in the small oven (to the right of Carlos) and brought to the workbench for forming.
A special jig guides the hanger into a uniform size. Here, Jerry applies pressure to form the hanger into the correct profile.
Finished spring hangers are placed on the work bench to cool. Jerry and Carlos have spent hundreds of hours on trucks for freight and passenger rolling stock. We are fortunate to have such dedicated and talented volunteers.

Thanks for your continued support and interest in the WW&F!
