We had a wonderful time with my parents and daughter at the WW&F Railway Museum! We booked a ticket on the train (1hr RT) which was the perfect amount of time for a 3 year old! We got there early- all the staff/volunteers were so nice and told us all sorts of details about the history and restoration projects. We will be back for some of their special trips!

An absolutely enjoyable day out with a very friendly crew, excellent website and very fast ticket-ordering page, great greeters and friendly office crew. A ride on any of the trip options is very enjoyable, regardless of sun or rain. Rainy days are, in fact, really pleasant. This is about the easiest and most friendly visitor railroad museum ride that I have ever experienced. This is really an excellent all-day or day out for young families, especially!

It is wonderful to see and experience the dedication and passion the people at the Wiscasset – Quebec narrow- gauge railway have for the brilliant work they do. I’ve taken several such excursions on vintage trains from the Victorian era and I can say without reservation that this was one of the most amazing crew I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet.

Little did we know, this would end up being the highlight of our trip!
This place is completely run by volunteers-and what an incredible job they do, even wearing similar attire you’d see in 100 year old photos. They were all so kind, friendly and informative. Always smiling!
The train was incredible-the coal, the smoke, the bell and that WHISTLE! Easy to immerse yourself into the past and imagine what life was like long ago.
Highly recommend! We were there roughly 2 hours including the hour long train ride.

If you want to take a journey into history then look no further. The grounds, staff and support buildings were fascinating but the train ride was the show stopper. The conductor was dressed in authentic garb, came and punched our tickets and answered all our questions about the train, the line and history.
We were four adults and a dog. Even the dog enjoyed it after she got over the noise when we left the station.
I recommend this for anyone who likes trains and even for those who just want to experience a fun time.

Very fun and scenic excursion. They have been expanding a lot in the past few years. There is a surprising amount to see here! We just went on the round trip Sheepscot Valley steam train ride, but the people who chose the lavender picking ticket seemed to have a lot of fun. Great little gift shop with out of print and used books as well. I’m very happy to support their mission to preserve these trains and expand the railroad. Highly recommend!

This was Great from begging to end of the Day. Everyone was so friendly and kept you Smiling. The Horses were just so Beautiful and the rides were Awesome. The tents with products were so interesting and so good. Even as cold as it was and no snow for the sleighs (buggy only), it was a perfect Day! You should go!!

I brought my family on a train ride, including my young nephew. We all really enjoyed the ride, especially my nephew! It’s clear that the volunteers are very passionate about the preservation of this historic railroad. The crew was very friendly and hospitable. We ended up helping turn the engine at the end of the line, it was a unique attraction that many railroads don’t offer. My young nephew found it very cool and talked about how strong he must be to push a train all day following the trip. The whole team of volunteers made it an unforgettable experience. Hats off for a great outing.

As an amateur railroad historian, I can truly say that if you are looking for the authentic Maine Two Foot gauge railroad experience from yesteryear, whether you are a former railroader, a railfan or an average tourist, THIS IS IT. The W,W&F railway museum easily rates Five Stars. It is a Must See.

Very informative and fun trip on a narrow gauge railroad! Friendly, knowledgeable staff. You can tell that all the workers there are passionate about the railroad and bringing history alive. Make sure you check out the other buildings to see classic rolling stock and several steam locos that are being built/restored. Nothing like the sound of a steam locomotive chugging up a 4% grade! This would be a great family outing as well.

Going on an old train ride is cool- especially when all the people that work there love is so much. But getting to ride it to a farm? Incredible. I have done the lavender picking and pumpkin picking experiences and loved them both! The ride is so beautiful and pleasant and the farm is super nice. The railway and farm work together and tractors pulling trailers pick you up right at the train tracks and bring you into the farm. Sometimes you get a horse drawn carriage if you’re first off the train! July is perfect for lavender picking; it is an absolutely gorgeous farm that I will continue to go to every year. I recommend this so strongly!!!

A combination of Brigadoon and Shangri-La, the W. W. & F. unites remarkable historic artifacts with a group of remarkable people dedicated to the preservation and operation of those artifacts and — even more important — dedicated to sharing them with the rest of us AND sharing everything that they know about the artifacts and the history of the great little railroads of Maine with every visitor of every age. Five stars, three cheers, and I cannot wait to come back to visit again!

Such a gem! The staff were all so lovely. I loved being able to look around in the shop, and watch the engine turn around on the turn table. The ride through the woods was the pretty. I look forward to going back for one of their special rides!

A real living/working history event. Very nice and informative/ engaged staff. This is a constantly growing and working narrow gauge steam railroad. This is a rustic working exhibits where they are rebuilding vintage equipment on site so expect dirt and grime and running equipment. This is a great unique experience. They have teamed up with a local farm that abuts the tracks and have lavender picking, horse drawn carriage rides, and pumpkin picking activities .

They are the best heritage Maine railroad featuring historic working steam trains and themed rides and exhibits. Staff extremely helpful and will teach you the history of the Sheepscot Valley and the railroad that served it.

I cannot tell you what a surprise it was to see this beautiful recreation, in progress, of steam train travel back in the 1800s. The equipment was in realistic operating order, including wear and tear.
The staff of volunteers could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable and, friendly.
Spinning the locomotive around by hand was a treat, as was a hand car ride for our entire family group.
I will definitely go again and continue to support this wonderful museum.
If your vacationing in Maine with your family, it is a wonderful outing for all.

A wonderful place for train enthusiasts big and small! A great team of volunteers that are preserving a piece of rail history. Always evolving, so there’s something new to check out. A beautiful train ride on a narrow gauge steam engine.

Go back 100 years and take a ride on the unique railroad that was part of an extensive network of 2-foot gauge railroads in Maine. Or volunteer! All skills are needed as nearly everyone working here is a volunteer. You can actually help lay rail like it was done back in the old days, with rail tongs and spike hammers.
