Ride the Narrow Gauge railway – one of Midcoast Maine’s historic hidden gems! This spring, ride the historic WW&F railway on a five-mile (round trip) 50-minute excursion.
Ride our steam-powered train through the wild pine forests, farmlands and hamlets of the Sheepscot Valley to Trout Brook Preserve. Explore our railyard, examine our displays, and peruse our gift shop when you return to the Sheepscot Station.
Take the Narrow Gauge Stargazing Special!oard your train at Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) for a ride through the wild pine forests, farmlands and hamlets of the Sheepscot Valley to Alna Center where a star party awaits.
Join the WW&F Railway’s volunteers on an “open” work session. We have the following work sessions planned for select Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Join us for one or all of them! Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome and needed.
For All Narrow Gauge Fans. This May Be for You. Brodie Photography is teaming up with the WW&F Railway to host a Photo Charter, running the whole line from Sheepscot to Trout Brook (Mountain Extension) and return with numerous photo stops on the way featuring a mixed train with WW&F #9, Boxcars 309 & 67, and Coaches 3 and 8.
All friends and family of Dwight Winkley are invited to be our guests on the 1pm train to Trout Brook Preserve on which we will share stories and memories of our dearly departed friend.
Note: All train rides and activities start at our Sheepscot station at 97 Cross Road in Alna, Maine. There are (presently) no stations in Wiscasset, Waterville, or Farmington.
