Victorian Christmas Train and Market
Make an unforgettable Christmastime Memory on the WW&F Railway!
Ride the Train to see Santa and visit the SeaLyon Christmas Market!
Board your Victorian Christmas train at Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) for a 15-minute ride through the wild pine forests, farmlands and hamlets of the Sheepscot Valley to Alna Center where Santa Claus and a Christmas Market await.
As you disembark from the train, family fun and yuletide joy fills the air. All youngsters will be treated to a visit with St. Nicholas himself, Santa Claus. Then explore the Holiday Market while enjoying a nice, relaxed, family-friendly Christmas Fête – filled with the best local products. The entire experience takes approximately 1.25 hours.
Ticket price includes your journey aboard the historic train, a visit with Santa, hot beverages, ornament making, as well as parking at Sheepscot and admission to the SeaLyon Christmas Market. Additional refreshments and other farm products are sold separately by SeaLyon Farm and their partners. Note that due to the nature of this event, wheelchairs can not be accommodated.
Unfortunately, pets can not be accommodated during this special event.
Victorian Christmas Trains depart Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) promptly at 10am, 10:40am, 11:20am, 12pm, 12:40pm, 1:20pm and 2pm. Please anticipate traffic conditions on Route 1 in Wiscasset.

A portion of the ticket price is used to sponsor attendance by those in our community who would otherwise be unable to experience a Christmastime train. Thank you for helping us spread hope and joy this season.
If weather conditions permit, additional tickets may become available for purchase the day before the event.
Weather and Cancellations
Unless a state of emergency is declared, this event will run rain, snow, or shine. No refunds or exchanges will be offered due to inclement weather conditions (unless a snow emergency is declared.) The Christmas Market will be situated under the large pavilion at Alna Center, providing shelter from precipitation. The WW&F Railway and SeaLyon Farm reserve the right to adjust the Christmas Market to suit weather conditions, however, the core element of a train ride and visit with Santa Claus will always be a part of this journey.
StEAM or DIESEL?
The WW&F strives to operate historic coal-burning steam locomotives on every train. However, due to many factors, this is not always possible. While subject to change, for Victorian Christmas we intend that the 10:40am, 12:00pm, and 1:20pm departures feature a steam locomotive pulling the train to Alna Center. But since all guests will be laying over at Alna Center to visit with Santa and shop the Christmas Market, those who ride the diesel train to Alna Center (at 10am, 11:20am, 12:40pm and 2pm) will return aboard the steam train – and those who ride the steam train to Alna Center will return aboard the diesel train. So everyone will get the opportunity to ride behind one of our historic steam locomotives!
Magical

The Christmas train is such a fun little activity with kids. They had so much fun riding the train, visiting with and writing letters for Santa, making a little ornament, and having cocoa by the bonfire. All the WW&F volunteers really make it magical. And the little craft fair is great for picking up some gifts at the same time!

Unique to Maine

Victorian Christmas is one of the great fun experiences unique to Maine. My three year old grandson, his mother and I loved the steam engine ride, bonfire, the hot chocolate, the hot dogs, and the chance to buy unusual last minute gifts. Mr and Mrs Santa Claus was a big hit.
