Museum Milestones for January, February, and March 2019

Car Shop: Work began in January to insulate the shop with rockwool insulation. Much of the insulation had been installed by the end of the quarter. In the meanwhile overhead crane installation work proceeded, a coal stove was installed, and work was done to further organize the shop.

B&SR Flatcar 34: The flatcar (in derelict condition) arrived and work began to reconstruct it. The car was traded for B&SR Boxcar 50. By the end of the quarter the carbody was ready for trucks.

Mountain Extension: Tree clearing from the north end of track to the bridge was conducted over the winter – about 1200 feet. As the roadbed itself was clear of trees, the clearing was to or just beyond the ditch line.
