Museum Milestones for January, February, and March 2021

Top of the Mountain: Cutting crews cleared trees from areas west of the mainline, in order to clear spaces for a planned shingle mill and saw mill.

Shop Upgrades: The machine shop has been upgrades throughout the last year, and this continued into the new year.  The Museum took ownership of a Lodge & Shipley lathe, and disposed of surplus equipment.  Also work began to build a loft in which to house an air compressor.

Electrical Distribution Building: The interior of the electrical distribution building was completed, as far as insulation and the interior walls go.  Next will be the installation of electrical equipment.

B&SR Boxcar 56: More work on repairing the carbody structure.

Coach 9: The car roof was put on and the floor installed, in addition to other work.

Public Operations: Although still at limited capacity because of Covid-19, winter operations “Steam and Sleighs” to SeaLyon Farms were very popular.
