A Blueberry Crisp Summer Experience!
Board your train at Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) for a 15 minute steam-powered ride through the wild pine forests, farmlands and hamlets of the Sheepscot Valley to Alna Center for a yummy treat!
We’ve partnered with Fields Fields Organic Wild Blueberries to give a short (20-30 min) presentation on Maine’s wild fruit. And, on site, they’ll be cooking up a fresh batch of homemade, organic, gluten free, wild Blueberry Crisp to be enjoyed amidst the gorgeous field at Alna Center.
Afterwards, we’ll all return back to Sheepscot station where you’ll want to explore our railyard, examine our displays, and peruse our gift shop.
Ticket price includes the steam train ride, the blueberry presentation, a generous serving of homemade blueberry crisp, as well as parking at Sheepscot. Additional farm stand and assorted blueberry products will be available for your consideration.
The Wild Blueberry Express does not include a train ride on the “Mountain Extension” to Trout Brook. Please refer to the Sheepscot Valley Steam Train for trips that extend to that destination.
Note that passengers in wheelchairs can not be accommodated on this train. Small, well-behaved dogs are allowed at the discretion of the Conductor.

Fields Fields Organic Wild Blueberries
Fields Fields is a 2nd generation family run MOFGA certified organic wild blueberry farm in Dresden, Maine. Farmers Ashley and Jesse keep the berries and their surroundings in their most natural state. They’re passionate about sharing the powers of wild blueberries and make it their goal to educate others about this indigenous plant that only grows in a small section of North America.
Weather and Cancellations
The Wild Blueberry Express will run rain or shine (please dress accordingly.) If extreme weather is predicted, all passengers will be notified via email or phone, and given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
Passes, Vouchers and Discounts
We will be pleased to honor passes and vouchers for the base portion of the fare of this special event. Please first purchase your tickets (at full price) to reserve your seats, then email info@wwfry.org to receive a refund equal to the value of a Lifetime WW&F Pass, an Annual Pass, or similar pass.
