Sheepscot Springday Steam-up!
A Springtime Steam Special
Ride the Narrow Gauge railway – one of Midcoast Maine’s historic hidden gems!
This spring, ride the historic WW&F “narrow gauge” railway – one of Midcoast Maine’s hidden gems – on a five-mile (round trip) 50-minute excursion.
Board your train at Sheepscot station for a steam-powered ride through the wild pine forests, farmlands and hamlets of the Sheepscot Valley to Top of Mountain. After a layover to allow the locomotive to “run-around” the train, we’ll return back to Sheepscot station where you’ll want to explore our railyard, examine our displays, and peruse our gift shop.
Ticket price includes the steam train ride as well as parking at Sheepscot. We a pleased to accommodate passengers requiring extra assistance, including those in wheelchairs on this train. Small, well-behaved dogs are allowed at the discretion of the Conductor (limit 1 per train; first come first served.)
The Sheepscot Springday Steam-up Trains depart Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) promptly at their scheduled times.
We look forward to seeing you on the narrow gauge!
Special Note
The Sheepscot Springday Steam-up does not include connecting service to SeaLyon Farm (or admission to their special event). This train also does not traverse the Mountain Extension to Trout Brook.

Coolest Thing Ever

This is not a toy train or a carnival ride. These are real historical trains that are just much smaller than you are used to seeing. These guys are real serious and restore these old trains and maintain the tracks etc. This is a very cool experience and I encourage you to talk to the guys there running and working on the trains, they are filled with stories and information that makes the experience that much better!
