Ride the railway and a hayride to The Alna Store for a BBQ, Music, and more!
Board the Alna Store BBQ Limited at Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) for a narrow gauge steam train ride through the wild pine forests, farmlands and hamlets of the Sheepscot Valley to Top of Mountain where you’ll transfer to a wagon ride through the fields of SeaLyon Farm to the James Beard Award nominated Alna Store for a cookout featuring the finest local food and produce.
At the world famous Alna Store, enjoy a last hurrah of summer BBQ ~ burgers, hot dogs, fries, cake, summer veg, and live music. You’ll have a 1.5 hour layover at The Alna Store to enjoy the food and festivities before the hayride wagons and narrow gauge train bring you back to the railway museum grounds.
With limited parking available at The Alna Store for this special event, the train and wagon ride makes for a unique, fun, and stress-free way to enjoy the best of Alna’s charm.
Ticket price includes the historic steam train, hayride to The Alna Store, as well as ample parking at Sheepscot. Food and refreshments are sold separately by The Alna Store. Note that due to the nature of this event, wheelchairs can not be accommodated.
Unfortunately, pets can not be accommodated during this special event.
The Alna Store BBQ Limited departs Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) promptly at 3pm – ONE DAY ONLY – and will return by 6:30pm. Please anticipate traffic conditions on Route 1 in Wiscasset.
We look forward to seeing you on the narrow gauge!
About The Alna Store
The Alna Store is a sweet restaurant and market off the beaten path in MidCoast Maine. Working with a plethora of local farms, fisherman and artisans, they serve beautiful food with warm hospitality. Furthermore, this James Beard Award nominated restaurant challenges the idea that profitability in the service industry necessitates the exploitation of labor, resources, and agriculture.
About SeaLyon Farm
SeaLyon Farm is beautifully situated amongst the rolling woods and fields of Alna just south of Head Tide and adjacent to the WW&F’s Top of Mountain station. For this special event, the train will meet SeaLyon’s tractor-drawn hay wagons to transport all passengers to The Alna Store.
