Ride the Sheepscot Valley Narrow Gauge from Sheepscot Station (97 Cross Rd, Alna) to Alna Center to enjoy an evening bonfire, samples of locally produced foods and the history of the Sheepscot Valley’s general stores!
Taryn Hammer Marcus of the Sheepscot General Store and Farm will explore the history of the Sheepscot Valley’s general stores, including those in Alna, Whitefield and Windsor, along with the connection between the stores and the narrow gauge, as well as the important role General Stores play in our communities today.
After sunset the train will depart Alna Center for its return trip amidst the warm glow of oil lamps for a unique steam train ride through the darkness back to Sheepscot.
Trains will leave Sheepscot Station, 97 Cross Road, Alna, Maine, at 6 p.m. Regular fares apply — $8.00 adults, $5.00 children 12 & under, and Free children 3 & under.
Tickets are available online at wwfrytickets.simpletix.com. As capacity is limited, we advise buying your tickets in advance. Any remaining tickets will be sold at Sheepscot Station beginning at 5 p.m. on the 29th. We will post on our Facebook page in the event that tickets have sold out. As of September 21st, tickets are sold out!
