Special Event! Albion Day!
11/04/2017 @ 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Each year, volunteers at our museum join the Albion Historical Society to aid in the society’s effort to restore the Albion station and railroad yard. Albion was the northern-most station on the WW&F. The society now owns the station.
This year’s date conveniently falls on the anniversary of the opening of the railroad to Albion — November 4th, 1895. On November 4th, 2017, we will be leaving from the Sheepscot museum grounds around 7.30 a.m. to head up to Albion station. We expect work will start around 8.30 a.m. Planned work is expected to include track maintenance and brush cutting, but may include some archeological digging in and around the turntable pit to see if any nice tidbits or knickknacks can be uncovered! We expect the day to wrap up around 4 p.m.
