We need a few extra volunteers THIS SATURDAY (11/10) to help clean up trees and brush along the newly constructed “Mountain Extension”. Work will consist of removing downed trees and feeding debris into a wood chipper. Anyone (all ages, with parental supervision) are welcome.
Work trains will leave the main museum station at Sheepscot (97 Cross Road, Alna) at 8:15am, 9:30am, and 12:15pm. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers (a $4 donation is requested). All work will conclude no later than 4pm.
Please bring appropriate ear and eye protection, in order to work in the vicinity of the chipper. Those with chainsaws etc (and are comfortable with their proper use around others who may not be so comfortable) are welcome to bring them. It is hunting season, so wearing bright colors is recommended.
Those leaves that need raking in your yard will still be there on Sunday, come spend the day on the railroad instead; you’ll be glad you did. See you on the narrow gauge!
